Spanning 550 hectares, the property is exceptional for its biodiversity, taking in no less than three different biomes - Afro-montane forests, valley bushveld and Cape fynbos - together supporting a myriad of wildlife.
Resting atop a high peak with exquisite 270 degree vistas over the scenic surrounds, the lodge's unforgettable setting is complemented by its elegance, understated sophistication and luxurious range of creature comforts. The lodge was designed around the original 1920's farmhouse and renovated to resemble the original building as closely as possible, complete with traditional corrugated iron roofs and wide terraces ideal for relaxed socialising and sunset drinks. Evenings are spent in traditional African style around a unique "boma" with the sounds of the crackling fire and nocturnal creatures drifting up from the lush valley below.
The property offers four Superior Suites and three newly built Luxury Suites, affording guests the unique opportunity to experience exclusivity, privacy, and the gracious style of Old World elegance.
Two exquisite adjoining tented lodges are perched on the edge of the valley, offering guests privacy and an unforgettable experience.
Each of these spacious suites is uniquely decorated, accented by richly-hued antiques, Persian carpets, polished wooden furnishings and objets d'art. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, plush four-poster or twin beds with mosquito nets, and private verandas with beautiful views onto the lodge gardens and the mountains beyond.
The infinity pool is magnificently positioned on the edge of a cliff where the land drops away to the valley below, offering breath-taking views onto mountain slopes cloaked with dense indigenous vegetation.
The lodge's restaurant serves hearty, unpretentious meals focused on quality, flavour and wholesome goodness.
