This excellent villa is compromised of 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (with 2 en-suite), an bright entrance hall, a living room and a fully modern fitted kitchen.
The bright hallway leads to the galleried landing, giving access to the upstairs terrace and bedrooms. Downstairs there is also a cloakroom with shower and wc. Within 10 minutes by car you reach the local beach. Praia de Alvor is the western end of the long sandy beach of Alvor; the eastern end is called Praia de Tres Irmaos. It is a lovely long open sandy beach, with many beach restaurants and rolling sand dunes that back onto the lagoon formed by the Alvor river. Praia de Tres Irmaos has a restaurant at the start of the beach and is a lot more sheltered than Praia de Alvor because of the cliffs and rocks that form the stunning backdrop. Water sports available.
The famous Henry Cotton Championship Golf Course at Penina is just at the end of the road, and within 20 minutes drive you can find the courses of Vale da Pinta and Gramacho, Silves, Morgardo and Dos Alamos, Salgardas, Alto, Palmares, Boavista and lastly Parque de Floresta.
There is so much to do in and around Alvor. If you are feeling energetic there is surfing, wind surfing and kite surfing or if you are a little more laid back why not take a boat trip around to Lagos or try your luck at sea fishing, perhaps a river boat trip from Portimao to Silves, dolphin watching is always popular too. For the kids there is Zoomarine, with its dolphin shows, the parrots, amusement fair and water fun. There are 2 great water parks with flumes and pools within easy reach and a ecological zoo in Lagos which has a children's' area where you can buy food to feed the goats and pigs. As if this wasn't enough there are numerous golf courses within easy reach, an outstanding Karting track at the new F1 Autodrome which is only a stones throw away and coastal flights are available from the aerodrome. If shopping is your bag, the new center in Portimao may be just what you need, AQUA has a wide variety of shops and an excellent food court. Practical shopping in the form of Lidl, Jumbo, Pingo Doce and Continente are all fairly close by.
Alvor village itself is a maze of narrow streets, it is a charming village of white houses perched on a hill below the church and overlooking the lagoon and sand dunes. A few of the old local fishermen still clean their catch by the old fish market and meet up with their friends to chat away the hours. During the day Alvor is a sleepy seaside village but by night there is quite a vibrant scene, with many diverse bars and restaurants touting their wares. You can choose anything from shellfish prepared at the table, via a great Italian restaurant to a pie and a pint! After all this wining and dining there are 2 taxi ranks to get you home safely.
