This majestic and very unusual castle in Ecuador, right on the equator line, stands in lush parkland of 28.5 hectares with mature trees and is in need of renovation.
The property itself has over 10,000m2 of floor space which has a mixture of seven different architectural styles: neo-Gothic, neo-Renaissance and Rococo. The castle's park is made up mostly of forests of cypress and eucalyptus trees, although there are landscaped areas with dozens of iron sculptures of Greek and Roman mythology, famous monarchs of the world, as well as scenes of social life of the Ecuadoreans.
There is 28 rooms, 60 bathrooms and 2 main restaurants. In architectural plan there is the possibility to add 100 rooms more.
Apart from the main building of the castle is Cathedral, executive suites, administration building, 2 Roman style pools (one open and one covered), several neoclassical fountains and multiple pavilions, tennis court and fifty parking spaces. There is also a mineral water spring on the grounds.
The interior reveals exquisite stone and marble sculptures, railings and baseboards in carved wood, stucco work on the ceilings and tiled floors in some sections; all made by skilled craftsmen of Cayambe and San Antonio de Ibarra.
A significant part of the land would be excellent for an 8 hole golf course.
There is also an ample space to build a number of executive homes.
The cost to complete the construction of the castle and the grounds is estimated to be around $2,000,000.
