Details of history: building, located on Grivitei Way was built in 1905 and has an old tradition. Train travellers, wating for their trains from North Railroad Station and have some free time to spent, entered here to see a movie for little money.
Attributed to the architect Constantin Cananau - illustrious descendant of a noble family from Moldova - and built in Art Deco style which had already emerged in Romania and especially in Bucharest after International Exhibition of Decorative Arts and Modern Industrial, held in Paris in 1925. Held by Romania Film Network since 1948, in 2006 was returned to rightful heirs of former owners. Main attraction of the building: the bas-reliefs. Strange, disparate, exciting, they are the main decoration of the building and have a real artistic value. st famous: between chariot driven by Death rides a stallion which still stands as hooves another female form that was attached, by local gossip, to Empress Maria-Theresa, in an erotic depiction that historians have not confirmed it but it is bas-relief on the facade of the cinema face to Grivita Way. Half of these bas-reliefs fell prey to the degradation of the building. The good news is that reliefs can be fully restored!
