HART-MCGIRR LAMAY PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
The property is located just outside the tranquil village of Lamay, in the Sacred Valley between the towns of Pisac and Calca, and a one-hour drive from the city of Cusco. The property is 400 metres from the Lamay health post and 800 metres from the Plaza de Armas, far enough to afford a very quiet environment, while providing access to services within a five-minute walk.
This beautiful adobe home was constructed in 2010 with floor areas as follows: first floor – 41.3 m2; second floor – 38.0 m2; and exterior balcony – 15.7 m2. The house is designed with a rock foundation wall, reinforced corners, and full-length perimeter beams between floors. A 28m2 outdoor patio with firepit adjoins the front door. Although a small house, the open layout with the balcony and patio makes this home very accommodating.
The first floor is an open design, with adobe sofas and ample room for overnight guests. A closed pantry and entertainment/bookshelf area are underneath the stairs. The living room has sufficient space for office desks and shelves. The kitchen is has ample cupboard space, counters and area for a stove, refrigerator and washer. The downstairs is well lit with 8 large windows, four of which are opening.
An aguano wood staircase leads to the second floor where there are three bedrooms with hardwood floors. The L-shaped master bedroom is 15.9 m2 and includes ample space for a small study, plus a large storage area in an upper loft. The master bedroom opens onto a 15.7 m2 covered balcony, with climbing jasmine and honeysuckle plants and exquisite views of the mountains and the Incan ruins of Huchuy Qosqo. A second bedroom is 8.8 m2 and suitable for a matrimonial bed, dresser and desk. A third bedroom is 7.7 m2 and suitable for a single bed, dresser and desk.
The property includes a cozy, adobe guesthouse with a 20 m2 main floor plus a 8.5 m2 sleeping loft. The guesthouse has a downstairs bedroom, a main room with kitchen, and a bathroom with toilet and shower.
The property is accessed by a private bridge (constructed in 2012) with locking metal gate. A single-vehicle carport is situated just inside the property. There is an enclosed workshop plus an open, covered space for projects and yard equipment.
