Spectacular 17th century villa in Umbria, close to Perugia.
This palatial property was built around an old watching tower of the 15th
century and is surrounded by fantastic, well-tended gardens with fountains
and paths for a total of 6.5 ha. In the park there is a large swimming pool
with relax area and a small lake. The property comprises several
outbuildings (about 500 sqm), the main villa of about 2.450 sqm, a fully
restored guest house over two levels and an ancient 1378 sqm. farmhouse to
be restored, for a total of 5.000 square meters of private surface.
The current villa's structure and layout was designed by the architect
Tarchi who was inspired by the style of Roman and Tuscan villas of the 16th
and 17th century. The massive and elegant facade features a large roof
terrace with an extraordinary panorama stretching down to the surroundings
valley, going as far as Perugia, Assisi and the Trasimeno Lake.
The inside of the main villa is truly enchanting and unique: vaulted
ceilings, marble floors, parquet flooring, frescoes and ceilings with
handmade maiolica tiles. All the rooms create a circle around the central
staircase, which is located right in the middle of the ground floor.
A beautiful paneled library with paintings and frescoes of the owners'
family leads to the sitting room and to the living room. On this level there
is also a cloakroom for guests, a small living room with dining room, a sun
room decorated with frescoes and with handmade maiolica tiles on the
ceilings and a completely equipped kitchen. The first floor comprises four
luxury suites and a master bedroom with bathroom en suite. All the bathrooms
have marble flooring and furniture.
From here is reachable the three storey tower, which has seven bedrooms and
two bathrooms. The floors are linked through a spiral staircase.
The restored farmhouse covers approx. 720 sqm and comprises some stables, a
tack room and two apartments on the first and second floor. The first unit
has three bedrooms and the second apartment two. All the services have
already been connected.
The property comprises also a covered terrace set in front of the farmhouse,
a large garage with three car boxes, two offices, a storage rooms, a hay
loft, a green house, a lemon-house, a cellar and an old pig sty.
The land covers a total of 10 hectares of land with park, hazel wood with
truffle reserve and olive grove.
